Rizong Monastery

Established in 1831, it is 73 Kms from Leh. Within the monastery there are shrines, the painting blocks of the biography of Lama Tsultim Nima. The monastery is sited in a solitary position. 2 Kms below it there is a nunnery where about 20 nuns reside.
